The North Carolina Craven County Sheriff
Department is hosting a Fugitive Manhunt
Course through the training services of
Black Duck Corporation. Black Duck
Corporation is a North Carolina based
company engaged in investigations,
counterintelligence and law
enforcement/military training. This
course is designed to teach and evaluate
law enforcement officers, SWAT/SRT and
K9 units fugitive manhunt techniques
that will lead to the successful capture
of armed and dangerous fugitives
attempting to escape and evade in a
woodland environment.
This course will provide instruction on
different movement techniques and their
appropriate applications to various
terrain. After three (3) days of
hands-on academic instruction, there
will be a challenging one and one half
days practical exercise to implement and
reaffirm the information and techniques
taught in the class room environment.
This course is arduous and taxing; both
physically and mentally. Officers and
K9 units should be in excellent physical
condition to participate.
